Water, water everywhere...

Post: # 293145Post ina »

I don't know what the met office thinks a "light" shower is - but my understanding is a bit different. A solid wall of water outside the window just as it was getting to going home time! Roads close to being flooded (a bit more than large puddles). Keep fingers crossed, I'm going to Dundee tomorrow with some friends... :?

It's been a rather wet period over the past 4 weeks hasn't it?

I expect the weather to turn dry whilst I'm sitting in the armchair exercising my repaired knee - operation to replace next Thursday.

By the time I'm walking again I should have a wilderness rather than allotments.

Indeed. We were awake really early this morning so got up to have a cheeky cup of tea. Next thing we knew there was a deluge out the back of the house - from the North - that sounded like hail (I was still in my pyjamas so didn't venture out to look!).

OH started laughing. The weather forecast for our area claimed a "less than 5% chance of precipitation".

Forecast for Dundee today: heavy rain. Er - not a drop. Not that I'm complaining...

Rain at last! 40mm ( just short of 2 inches) of good soaking rain this weekend - more than the total for the previous 3 months!
I actually had to tow two bogged semi-trailers out of the paddock Sunday afternoon.

I woke up one day last week, got myself ready for work, opened the curtains to.... snow!!! I was so shocked, I decided to work from home. Brrrr, not going out in that.

Lucky you that you can do that. I really don't like snow either - not when I have to leave the house!

Still not up to visiting the allotment with the knee not being in action enough yet but the family went on a raid yesterday. Son-in-law said it was wet enough to soak through the leak in his big strong boots.

We have post tropical cyclone Sebastien visiting tomorrow, but the forecast is nothing special.
"They" are only forecasting 50 Km/h winds, barely force 6, and about 6 mm of rain.
Although, as unbelievable as it sounds, "they" have been know to get it wrong.

Rain and cooler now thankfully - only 11mm for January but daytime temps down to low 30's c; we maxed out at 47c earlier this month. Humidity is creeping up to 20 -30 % so the evaporation rate is dropping accordingly. The drought is not over but at least the weather is bearable.
