nothing - in the process of pulling the whole veg patch out, levelling everything and starting again. We are running into too many issues with fertility, water infiltration, soil borne diseases etc. in various beds.

Oh gloom Weedo that comes expensive in time if not in other things that have to be garnered to improve the situation.

Yes, that is one of the reasons we decided to go for the whole rebuild thing. We will get some mechanical assistance once all the old "infrastructure" has been removed.

I finally have runner beans! It must have been the lack of water earlier in the season... Now, of course, we are about to have a lack of sunshine. Or daylight, even...

It's apple and pear harvesting time on the plot; that is if it ever stops raining and is dry enough and the climbing minions are free. Still carrots and dwarf beans to pick, a few radish and the last of the spring onions.

I never seem to be able to grow proper radishes... What am I doing wrong? They are supposed to be just about the easiest crop to grow! And I love eating them, so always end up buying.

Well I'm glad you've said that - I thought it was just me! Mine just get loads of foliage and not much root. However, we do a good line in radish pods, which I believe are quite trendy.

I know - I try to console myself with that, too!
