Was he wearing an ethical suit - that is the question! (You can get suits made from organic material...)

These links are taking too long to open :?

I was reading an article about ethical man on the BBC website yesterday. I believe the suit is "ethical" in that it's an old one being reused rather than a new one bought just for the purpose (origins lost in the past but at least it's being used rather than being landfill!).

kept seeing that prannet in his suit.........complete with production team!
I think what sums up him and his report is the suit, and the fact that the BBC had the only diesel generator on site!!!!!!!!!! :?
I watched his "report" and noted that it was high on "snigger value" - the naturists etc., - sleazoid journalism at it's worst! 8)
I politely asked one of the team how come they'd got a diesel generator - their reply as they rushed off was "take it up with production" :geek:

thankfully, i didn't see Ethical man at BGG, i think i mmight have left my hippy values behind and lamped him one if i had!!

BBC and a diesel generator?! What on earth did they want that for? Just so they could make that twit seem more important, and make a mockery of a serious weekend?

grrr...Ethacal man really gets my goat, i'm convinced he has no personal principles and is just 'doing the ethical thing' as a laugh (and a moneymaker!).

A diesel generator at BGG for the BBC!!! REALLY???????????? The interview touched upon diesel generators... saying you wouldn't hear the thump of a diesel generator and if you did security would come and close it down!!!

Last Night's Newsnight - ethical man at the Big Green

Once Again, a latecomer to this topic - sorry.

I saw that edition of Newsnight, and personally thought that it was a pointless piece of tabloid tat. Poor show BBC (my former employer from 1986 - 1994).

The whole title "Ethical Man" is a joke, he is not talking about ethics, and he's not really talking about sustainability.

Nevertheless, feedback from the public that have commented on the show has been fairly positive, and any 5 minute slot in a news programme that tries to highlight some of the issues of sustainability ought to be a good thing?

I approached the organisers of BGG with the offer of supplying two waste veg oil fuelled recycled generator sets, and someone to demonstrate them and talk to the public about the issues of renewable fuels.

They turned me down, quoting their blanket ban on generators on the site.

I will however be at the Great Dorset Steam Fair, and I am still looking for a partner in crime to assist.
