Right,
Dad's cleared out the garage and we've got 4 bottles of claret that are way way past their best!!
He says put them on the compost, i say no, don't poison the minibeasts.
Anyone got any ideas for what i can do with them? They're not drinkable, nor are they cookable.
I'm looking for something like making vinegar, or fertiliser or something.

I was going to suggest vinegar - are they definitely past their best?? Have you opened a bottle to try?

there were 7 bottles. We opened them all, 2 were near to sherry, so they can be cooked with, 1 was lovely, so it'll be drunk, and the other 4 were past cooking. They smell and taste quite vinegary, but i didn't know what the 'last step' is.

looks like an excellent plan!
I've rinsed my hair (can't say its made much difference!). Not dyed the shirt yet....i'm a bit worried about that one.
the other 3 bottles have now disappeared.
However the 2 cooking wine bottles are still in the kitchen.
We've got a wine-making shop near us, so i'm going to go in and see if they've got the bacteria needed. Then i need to find a crock!
