Checked out the hazelnut tree today and almost all the nuts had gone. I reckon it was squirrels got them. Never mind, there were plenty of blackberries instead, and the elderberries are nearly ripe.

I found some of mine already dropped but they are really tiny and I bet they are empty inside - probably why squirrel nutkin hasn't taken them.

Ours are red squirrels and they have had 3 babies in a tree inside our property - so I could never get too cross if they take the nuts!
