yes, mulched with pine needles... we have a small pine forest.

asparagus: none this year, started loads from seed last year, and should get some from these, that are now in situ, next year.....

i also bought 10 crowns from ebay this year... and we´ve started a load more seeds off... so should have LOADS next year... and even more the year after... mmmmmmmmmm

Does anyone know where on the web I can buy a kerosene fueled, homeowner-grade "flame thrower" for burning weeds? Years ago, I saw one for sale but not recently.

The fact that you mentioned 'kerosene' may mean that you're not in the UK, but see this
