Shampoo
Shampoo
Does anyone know, if you stop using shampoo and don't use something else instead (i.e. just use water), does you hair really stop being greasy after a while when the "balance" is back?
I don`t know personally, but my brother in law never washes his hair - never bathes in fact - and he doesn`t look particularly grungy. (Doesn`t seem to smell either)
He told me once that it was`nt having a bath that bothered him, it was the shovelling the muck out of the bath afterwards that was a pain!

Re: Shampoo
yes but (having seen a couple of mates do it) you stink while you're regaining the balance (but then either you stop of everyone gets used to you - not sure which!), you get natural dreds and if you want to return to 'normal' hair you have to shave your head to start.Diana wrote:Does anyone know, if you stop using shampoo and don't use something else instead (i.e. just use water), does you hair really stop being greasy after a while when the "balance" is back?
That may not be the case all the time, perhaps if you comb it well etc, my mates were rather grungy anyhow. And if you want dreds anyway then its not a problem. But its a bit of a lifestyle choice - you can't do it with a client facing job or if you want to marry a Young Conservative in the near future.

I have gone the half measures route with regards to not using shampoo, I was my hair about once a week or less just when it really needs it. I gradually cut down how often I washed my hair over a few months. I know that it is not 2 weeks as I have gone that long, probally 3 weeks and it just looked pretty greasy.

I don't wash my hair very often either, just when it starts feeling horrible. My OH probably hasn't washed his in months and it looks completely normal.
My daughter used to suffer with very bad dry skin as a baby/toddler and the doctor gave me aqeuous cream to mosturise it with andto loosen the dry flakes on her scalp, which really helped and didn't harm her hair.
what about making your own with some herbs or essentail oils in known to help psoriosis?
