Better get ready for a rush of traffic as, following some delicious foraged pears that we enjoyed last night, I have just blogged a link to this thread!

With the glut of rose hips, sloes and crab apples in the area we've been keeping a track of where all the free fruit is too. Found some sweet chestnut trees but was disappointed that there was hardly anything in them.
On the other hand found a nice pear tree and got a few pears off it, bit grainy but be good for preserving though

We've just made crab apple jelly - very nice!! Not foraged as such.. but loosely associated with the term because the tree was in our garden when we bought the house..

I would LOVE to find some sweet chestnut trees.... does anyone know of any up here in Aberdeenshire?
