Taking my own advice to naturally get over a cold
Had a bit of a cold for the last few days and the night before last I decided to take my own advice I had a hot bath and a curry then wrapped myself up in two duvets and a sleeping bag for the night.
This seemed to help, although something has to be said as well about a positive attitude - I telephoned mates, tidied the house and did stuff that makes me happy - this seems to really be the best medicine.
To explain the tidy the house bit I don't find tiding that much fun but I do like to sit in a tidy house.

Good for you - and if you want a bit more practice at the tidying thing - come over here there's loads to do!! lol
I agree with you about the positive attitude thing - getting well is half the battle if you don't wallow in misery. My mum always quotes:-
The cure for this ill is not to sit still
And froust with a book by the fire
But to take a large hoe and a shovel also
And dig 'til you gently perspire
And soon you will find
The sun and the wind
And the djin of the garden too
Will have cured this hump
This camelious hump
This hump that is balck and blue!!
Chicken soup is always a help - especially when someone else makes it and serves it to you in bed while you watch a soppy movie...........
Keep well
Helen and Chris

Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

There was me hoping for 14 days as well.Muddypause wrote:An untreated cold will last for about two weeks. But a treated cold will last for around a fortnight.
At about five days in, many people reckon it's OK to start calling it flu.

They say that the difference between a cold and flu is this -
If you look out of your window and see a £20 note in the garden and you can be bothered to go and get it, its a cold, if you can't its flu!

I thought the difference was we men say we have the flu and the women folk around us tell us it is just a coldMilims wrote:They say that the difference between a cold and flu is this -
