I was thinking of doing some sort of course in horticulture - which apparently NZ are keen on, but no colleges near me seem to cater for this at all. Not even the Open University do anything in horticulture. Boo![]()
I've just completed a distance learning course in horticulture, run by a company called ICS http://www.icslearn.co.uk/course.asp?courseID=1157. It prepares you to do the RHS General Certificate in Horticulture, which you take separately with the Royal Horticultural Society. I found it really interesting and can recommend it. (Am still waiting for my results - should know in about three weeks!)
The only thing is, the exam is only held in March of each year, and the course is about eight months worth of work (evenings and weekends, if you are working full-time), so it's best to enrol asap. I only found out about it when I had three months to spare, so I did it crash-course style, and the chances of me passing are slim, but I learnt a lot anyway!
