Vacant plots in your area

Post: # 34142Post Andy Hamilton »

At the moment there is one vacant plot at the plummers hill site in Bristol.

If there are any on your site or that you know of then if might help by letting people know by posting here.

I'm on the Glenfield Rd site in Leicester. I know the AS is planning on clearing at least one other plot to be re-let. There was a waiting list, don't know about now, but it's worth adding yourself to it if you're if in this area.

every site in scunthorpe has vacant plots and with the average age of most of the holders 70+ there will be none in 5 years, the property developers are just waiting round the corner.

There are plots available in Baguley, Manchester. Some of them are serioulsy overgrown, alot of hard work to get them cleared would be required.

There's loads of plots in the site on Springburn Road in Glasgow, very overgrown and will need some TLC, particuarly with regard to fencing (loads of rabbits in the wasteland) but much cheaper than the council ones in the area.

Lots of vacant plots there. Some are very overgrown but they will "top clearn" them with a JCB to help you get started.

This site might be under threat because of the number of vacancies and it is a nice site. My friends have one plot there and are looking to take on another but of about 60 plots only about 20 are taken.

Any vacant plots in London?

Post: # 42693Post reefskin »

It's probably the daftest question I have asked this life but that's how you get bold explorers inventors and adventurers - never be afraid to ask the dumb question.

Does anyone know of any vacant allotment plots in London?
Dare I ask it, East London even? :)

Otherwise, if anyone has an allotment in London near me and could do with some help some time, I'll happily volunteer... so drop me a line.

Hi Reefskin,

We have about 8 plots available on our site. Great club house, special needs toilet. All behind locked gates! I was lucky they received a grant to clear three plots.
The link below is the start of my organic allotment.

I don't have an alotment but there are some near me and there are many vacant plots by the looks of it. They are all very overgrown so would take a bit of work. Unfortuantly I'm sure of the name or address. It is the site opposite the crickiters pub in grimsby

Scottish Allotments and Gardens Society www.sags.org.uk
SAGS has started work on the audit of all allotments in Scotland in association with Scottish Natural Heritage. In the first place we just want to collect as much information as possible about the location of Scotland's allotments. So if you know of an allotment site, particularly in a remote area and even if it is derelict, just click here http://www.sags.org.uk/audit/auditform.html to complete our online form.

Thanks for the info Steve - it's probably out of my range but so many people are after allotments in and around London, I'm sure the news will be welcome to a lot of people!

Many thanks,
Rob
