I know I keep disappearing but...

Post: # 48255Post 2steps »

I've had a horrible year so far and haven't really been keeping up iwth forums and such much. Haven't even been on ebay much   am feeling somewhat better now but I tell you my story... On new years day my OH (of 11 years) told me he as leaving. I agree things had not be fantastic but didn't expect that or that he'd have no interest in sorting any problems out. Then, just as I'm starting to feel half alive again I found out that a week after leaving me he started seeing this other girl, who we both knew beforehand :( So january has just been one big disaster. febuary is looking better thankfully though what wil valentines and our anniversary this month I don't know how I feel. Kids seem to be taking it ok and we're trying hard to keep things good for them. I'm just really worried about Jack, he was 7 weeks old at the time and hardly knew his dad anyway as he was out a lot

Hope everyone had a good xmas and new year. I got bought an incubator and dehydrator wooooo

Big hugs 2steps... I've been there mate!

Stay strong and keep yer chin up - you don't need people like that in your life.

Great news about the incubator and the dehydrator. It sounds like you are going to be busy. What are you looking to hatch first?

Hi 2steps. I've been following your story on Downsizer (are we allowed to name names on here?), but haven't responded as I don't really know what to say.

You seem to have been coping remarkably well given the circumstances. I hope you can continue posting as you have a lot of virtual friends to give you support and care from afar.

Best wishes, and bon chance.

Hi tay. I'm trying. trying to stick to the plans I had for this year.

Shirlz - I have no idea  my daughter wants ducks, I'd love brahmas and we need to hatch some layers. I have a feeling this incubators going to be busy! haven't tried the dehydrator yet either but have been collecting recipes. I want to put it on full to make the most of it

I have met a lot of people recently who have had a rotten start to the year. When I have had bad starts to years they have ended up being the best years of my life. I hope this ends up being in some way true for you too.

certainly true for me last year - at this time last year I was facing an array of medical procedures and the reality that I am actually mortal, and on top of that had withdrawn my son from school to begin home ed and was wondering what I was doing! by the end of the year all of the medical stuff is done and dealt with, and my son has blossomed, and we finally (after years of searching and hard saving) moved into a great house.

But... separation/divorce is something that takes a long while to process, particularly if you have kids together. I'm about a decade further on, and all I can say that is of use is things definitely get better - in fact I am stacks happier now than before.

stay strong 2steps :flower:

Big hugs 2steps, gardening and livestock force you to look forward to the future (as do kids!) and be positive about it, this is hard to see right now but the bad times make the good times extra special, we'd have nothing to compare to otherwise. More hugs and sisterly support being visualised heading up country,

kind thoughts
Deb

It was great to go into town today and see seeds and such in the shopsi'm looking forward to getting back out in the garden as it always makes me feel better

Hugs from me too mate!

That is so sad, I've never been in that sitation and suspect that I would cope fairly poorly if I was.

Hope the rest of the year is much better!
