And are you two going to spill the beans? You can't have secret Self-Sufficientish meet ups - you have to tell everybody all about it!
Well..................... last week I was up in Brisbane for work and I contacted Green Girl to see if she wanted to meet up. After she finished work on Thursday night we had dinner at a local Mexican eatery and talked until nearly midnight. As she is now living with her parents I hope they weren't worried about her being out late with some weirdo off the net  .

Anyway I am happy to report that she is a really lovely person! and if Mrs Wombat reads this.................................I'm dead!

Don't be so shocked Boots................Mrs Wombat knows (We have no secrets), it's just that I don't make a big thing about having dinner with an attractive yound lady in Brisbane.............................hmmm, that doesn't sound good. Well, you know what I mean

Nev

She is the same age as my eldest daughter! THAT puts it into perspective!

hee hee hee...

I just love it when a bloke backflips and moves into quality control.

it's just that I don't make a big thing about having dinner with an attractive yound lady in Brisbane.............................

er, who brought this up then?

I am sure you were very honorable and gentlemanly Nev. Just didn't take you for one to kiss and tell, so to speak.

Afterthought: Mrs Wombat is very attractive anyway. Seems to me you have dinner with an attractive woman most nights.... Your just greedy, me thinks.

Yeah, pretty much!

When Mrs Wombat picked me up from the airport she was dressed up to the nines and the motorway home was blocked so we went and, on impulse, booked into the Novotel and spent the night, had a nice feed etc. Greedy, yes and exceptionally lucky? Youbetcha!

I also wish to make a change to my oscars vote - Boots gets the wooden spoon! (deliberately embarrass me will you, woman!)

I reckon so, too.

But...

Nev, haven't you got to that age yet, when you suddenly start thinking that age really shouldn't be a barrier?

PS. Glad that you've proved we're not all just a load of luvvies at these Oscars. I was getting a bit worried about that!

Bloody ell... there goes my chance to wear that red dress and bring sexy back for the Awards night....

Spose I'll just have to rock up in my baggy jeans and Jacky Howe singlet, if we're keeping it all real like.

You must wear 'that' dress Boots - you need to show off after all given your success in 'team trim, taut and terrific'!

I feel the need to give a prize to both male and female actors (that wasn't a mistake, Martin  ).

Best newbie:

Dibnah & FunkyPixie

Most interesting poster:

Muddypause & Boots

Biggest user of smilies:

Martin & Shirlz

Most helpful poster:

Stonehead & Chickpea

Most interesting use of the English language:

Andy & Gunners71uk (sorry, one of you needs a gender realignment operation before you can pick up your award!!!)

Other awards:

Best supporting cast:

The 'Ish Moderators

Best supporting actor:

The Fee Fairy & Red (another 'change' operation needed here too...)

Rising stars:

Jack & Sal

Most missed (can't post/won't post):

Stonehead/John & Ina/Shiney

Lifetime achievement award:

Andy & Dave for their work with this site, and for the book deal!
Not all those who wander are lost...

There's a visual I'll not recover from soon!

Nev

Actually the singlet would be OK, just tighten up the jeans a bit

Good afternoon folks or is it evening over there?

Andy just contacted my agent and asked if I would present your oscars. I really like what he and all you lot are doing here, so I thought what the hey.

Best Newbie goes to Sal and Jack
Interesting poster goes to Muddy by a clear majority.
Biggest user of smiles goes to Martin
Most helpful person is a dead heat between Shirlz and Wombat
Andy of course gets the most interesting use of the English Language and I believe he is writing a book?
Most cynical is another draw between Muddy and Boots

With special mentions going out to all of you for keeping this fantastic place alive.

Pffft.

If I send you a cardboard cutout of myself Muddy, with the eye rolling emoticon embedded in my head, will you dance it up onto the stage and tell everyone I would like to thank my bills for getting me where I am today?...Billy Connelly, Bill Cosby and Bill Oddie.

Thankyou very much.
