All we can say is that sometimes in life people make footprints in your path and Stoney and his family have been of those people, an inspiration and a joy to communicate with. Where ever they are we wish them well, joy and a fruitfull new season.
Here's hoping and waiting for a Stonehead revival!!!

I am well sorry to hear that, because I am with Milims on the impressions in my life and the way stuff I do has changed, as a direct result of the info on his blog and the way the thinking was.

Milims has said exactly what I feel. For me, sometimes the thing I got from Stonehead was a bit of a giggle when I was feeling blue. There were also times that something he said made me stop and ponder a little more deeply.

What is it about so many people that if one doesn't quite 'fit the mould' you become a target for their rancour. Are they so much square pegs or stuffed shirts that they can't see the value of anyone/anything else?

Whatever Stonehead decides to do in the future, here's three cheers for his generous contribution to my education!

Thanks for the messages. I'm more than a little busy at the moment (even by my standards) as we're now into the digging, indoor sowing, propagating frenzy.

I've noticed some people around these parts (northern Scotland) are already sowing outside because the mild winter has them hoping for a warm spring, but not this little bunny. The weather has a funny habit of throwing in a cold snap or three between now and May so I like to play it safe - indoor sowing until mid-April, planting out under cold frames and cloches from late March, and lots of straw and salvaged fleece to hand.

Speaking of frenzied activity, is there anyone else who's daft enough to turn over a quarter acre potato patch by hand? I do enjoy digging, but I suppose it's a bit extreme! (Has to be done as there are several hard pans that neither the pigs nor the rotavator could break through.)

I hope to have the blog back up in a few days once I have the changes sorted out and explained to various "interested" parties!

Oh, and the piglets are doing fine!

You must be joking! Fifteen months and still counting. I'm finally down for treatment but only in the last week of April and then the first two weeks of May.

I'd like to see the people responsible for designing the NHS systems and procedures wait 16 months for treatment while in pain every day.

Not only that but it's much worse now. It was confined to one tooth, now it's three so all three need treatment.

When someone I know had a dental abscess in the late '80s it was diagnosed and fully treated in three days. Sometimes there really are good old days!

There is a rumour of more NHS money being wasted and that the disabled must, but many have no need to, visit a consultant every 6 months so that their disability benefit can continue. The more visits the more benefits you may be entitled to!

But it takes 6 months to be allotted a consultant appointment anyway, doesn't it??

But think you may have missed what I am saying, many disabled manage their condition far better than any consultant can do, and often the consultant asks them what they need. They have no need to visit a consultant as usually there is nothing that can be done. They touch base with a combination of GP, physio and occupational health therapist. It is only when the condition worsens dramatically they go back to a consultant. Thus leaving the waiting lists clear for newly diagnosed patients.
