If the government made builder companies build homes with the efficent solar panels and wind turbines on every house thats now built, they wouldn't have to give grants out in the first place!

Im getting really annoyed when i see hundreds of new homes being built without solar panels and a small wind turbine upon the roof, why have they not started to do this?~

because of all revenue lost in tax on fuel. They can't tax the sun or wind.

Hi
I know what you mean and rain water storage systems, triple glazing etc. If builders had to use these then the supply would go up and the prices would come down for the rest of us.

Oh, but 'they' can...

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Greenhousetax/

Certain local councils are planning to raise council taxes for houses with 'green' upgrades.

Quote: There are reports that local councils are considering raising the Council Tax on houses which have eco-friendly improvements such as solar panels and wind turbines. People should not be financially discouraged from making their own energy saving improvements. Council Tax should not be effected by positive environmental improvements.

The petition closes on 2nd April.
