Kune kune piglets due anytime
Beryl our kune kune is due to farrow any time soon, we have made a place for her in the barn with a creep rail and lamps for the piglets.
We had a disaster last time and none survived out of 7 born. So hopefully we are better prepared this time.
So we are playing the waiting game and hoping for a few mild nights, it's turned pretty cold the last few days!
Wish us luck!~~

Best of luck Bonniegirl. Friends of ours had two Kune Kune and they also had two heifers. When they put out hay for the heifers, the pigs would come along and lay all over it, so the heifers could not eat. Really funny to watch.

morning (well it is here) bonniegirl,
mrs camillitech would really love some kune kunes, how hardy are they? we don't get much frost here on the wet coast of scotland but we do get alot of wind and rain. we allready have tamworths and old spots and i'm reluctant to buy anything else if it means more feed bills but i'd read kune kunes were grazers and we do have plenty of land.
good luck, paul

Thanks for the good wishes. Still no news to report as yet!
ohareward They are so funny aren't they? I love them to bits, such characters.
camillitech Hi I'm not how hardy they are to be honest, but the weather can be pretty cold in some place in NZ. They are grazers but we give them food scraps and this time of year they'll get a few pig nuts. But as long as they have access to plenty of good quality grazing they should be fine.
This is quite a good site and I'm pretty sure there is a British forum too:
