Alum and Epsom Salts

Post: # 61989Post Milims »

I know its probably come up a dozen times before - but does anyone know where I can buy alum and epsom salts in bulk? We've tried Boots but to no avail so we'd welcome suggestions.
Thanks
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Bathbomb sell epsom salts in a wide range of weights from 250g to 25kg, but their prices are a bit steep. Just a Soap have fewer weights but go up to 100kg and are a lot cheaper.

But even Just a Soap is expensive compared to agricultural/horticultural suppliers which sell 25kg bags for between £17 and £20. If using horticultural epsom salts, check the labelling carefully as some aren't straight magnesium sulphate but have other chemicals as well (sulphur, boron, manganese etc).

Alum is used in both swimming pools and tanning of hides, so suppliers for either should be able to help.
