But did he take the lightbulbs?

Post: # 63111Post Andy Hamilton »

Ok, so I left a serious post about Blair in the news section. On a 'lighter' note do you think he took out all the lightbulbs at no10 when he left?

According to radio 2 this afternoon Mr Brown was doing the hoovering in number 10 - so maybe replacing the light bulbs was on his "to do" list!! lol! I just hope he remembers to replace them with the eco frindly ones - oh and put a brick in his cistern!! Maybe he should take notes from Charlie!

Do you think he is now walking around the house saying...

"Why would you put carpet in a bathroom"

"Oh come on, this door doesn't even shut right"

"Is that freezer working"

"You'd thing theyd have cleaned the kitchen floor before they left"

I seem to remember that when TB and GB moved in to Nos. 10 and 11 Downing Street 10 years ago, that they actually swapped accommodation, because No. 11 has a larger living area - TB had a growing family and GB was, at the time, a single man. I believe the two properties interconnect anyway.

Unless they moved back again when GB got married and started a family, maybe he won't actually be moving in as such anyway. It'll be the new chancellor who will have to tidy up after the Blairs.

Don't they always redecorate at vast expense to the tax payers?

Yeah, but Labour haven't been as bad as the Tories were.

Muddy - I remember that too now, but yesterday there were removal men taking stuff out of #10 door which I found strange as they probably have access round the back of the house (which is HUGE btw) so I guess it was all for show... yet more spin  GB says that'll all end now... we'll see

I remember that now, you are right muddy. I thought I would have a quick look about what is happening to chequers (the pm's weekend home). It seems that TB might be living there for a bit. So it would appear that nothing has really changed about living arrangements.

I think GB has said he won't be using the place much. I walked past the place a while back without realising until later that it was Chequers; there is a footpath (the Ridgeway, actually) that goes across the drive that leads to the house. At the time I thought it was a bit overdone with a load of security cameras covering every angle. Only realised why later.
