Hello!
Hi there everyone, I found your site by accident but am enjoying it.
Greetings from darkest Worcestershire, uk
I've never used a forum before.
We decided we wanted to grow as much as possible of our own stuff when we moved house 2 years ago. the inspiration was a walk round our old town on Christmas day and seeing a bloke pulling sprouts for Christmas dinner. we thought that was very cool and decided the new house had to be suitable for vegetable growing. We are now in an area where this is considered acceptable social behaviour and if you don't grow something it's almost regarded as strange. weve learnt to make our own bread and have produced some great chutneys to cheer up the lunchtime cheese butty.
I always used to hate gardening and gardening programmes and since producing food I think this must have been because the style and decorative stuff doesn't have as good an end function as a meal! The veg patch and greenhouse are areas where you can feel some sense of control and sanity in the world!
Hope to stick around.

Welcome to the site!
I think it happends as we get older, a primeval response of 'must provide for family, not rely on others ug' (imagine hair, loin cloth and club!) when we're younger we're happy for others to provide but as we get older we start to really think about it. Older doesn't have to be a specific age more of a state of mind....anyhoo once again welcome to the site I'm sure you'll love it here and gain loads
kind thoughts

I'm trying to work out what your name is derived from: is it a moomin(g?) troll, or moo-mint-roll?Cassiepod wrote:WElcome .. I'm tyring to imagine a moomin troll...
