What's your favorite Good life/good neighbours episode
Well just seen an episode of the good life on BBC 2 as they are repeating it again, hoorah. So does anyone have a favorite episode or a favorite moment of the good life?
Is it the one where Tom builds a car, where Margo is suposed to be havin an affair?

I like the episode where Tom & Barbara are invited to dinner next door but they decline as they have something `special` at home. Tom is supposed to kill a chicken and they sit down in posh evening clothes to eat al fresco. But the hen laid an egg as Tom fired his gun and they were carving a lovely fresh fried egg on a posh serving dish.

Thats only the second episode and it is called say a little hen, I will agree that is a good one but I will say that about all the episodes
I remember when being asked what was the worst one to film richard Briers said about having to lay around in mud all day for a scene in one episode. He later watched the episode and that scene had been cut.
You would not be too happy eh?

I suppose I would go with the one where Tom turns the rotary hoe into a car (sort of). I saw similar things operated for real in China
.
We just received the first series from UK Amazon! it is not on TV or available on DVD/Video here in Aus
I will have to work my way through them to check!

I know which one you mean, that is a good one. I wondered if it was your favorite as you have thought of doing it yourself mateWombat wrote:I suppose I would go with the one where Tom turns the rotary hoe into a car (sort of). I saw similar things operated for real in China.

I can't believe that Aus does not show, have they ever shown it? I guess it is a pretty typicaly english show, perhaps that is why.

G'Day Mate,
It used to be on in the 70's and 80's, when it first came out and for some time after. I am pretty sure that we saw the whole 4 series but it was a long time ago so my memory is a bit vague.
My wifes' parents would watch it and then kid us that we were the Goods, they reckoned that they couldn't watch it without thinking of us
We do get some of the UK comedies and they do replay all sorts of weird stuff every so often, but I have not seen anything of "the good life" for a long time.
Our ABC shop has lots of old UK comedies and other shows, but every time I mention the Good life, it is a no go..........buttocks!
Just out of interest, I always though it was re-named for the US to save confusion with the Scott and Helen Nearing thing, but I saw on a website a few days ago that it was because there already was a comedy called the Good Life!

to do the quote thing you have to start with the [ braket and write quote in between two. Then you write /quote in between two more at the end of the quote.
Yep the other good life was some old black and white sit com. Not seen it myself but it looks totally different.
We do have some awful sit-coms over here that I would be embarrised about you getting, but there are a few recent ones that might become classics, have you seen the office or Phoenix nights?

I liked the one where Barbara made Tom a new suit.... or should I say she knitted him one out of some very bright green wool! I can still picture that suit.
I seem to recall my dad having the biggest crush on Barbara... I'm sure he wasn't the only one
