The area is also wrong for me, but I'd be interested in some involvement -- financial / informational ... whatever is needed!

Have you had any luck yet Andy?

Can i run the pub, can i can i please?

I'd call it 'The Isher' and have a big flower on the sign and everything...

Actually, seriously, that's not a bad idea. If you can get a licence, you can also get grants from Defra to build a microbrewery, so the beers and wines would be legal and licenced for sale.

Ish Winery...Ish Brewery...The Isher.

heaven methinks...

I'm really interested, and I prefer living communually. Please, please do keep all of us informed. This sounds wonderfully exciting.

Is Bristol commuting distance to Woking? My husband can't change his job, I can though.

Absolutely (although not too pISHed - it is illegal to serve a drunk person technically).

Please let me run the pub!! Defra give grants of up to £25,000 for a microbrewery, and huge amounts for restoring old breweries (i know this - i had a friend who had a 17thC brewhouse on his property, and we were looking for grants to restore it and start brewing original recipe beer in it. CAMRA was interested in the historical side and were hinting at offering forensic tests to see if they could ascertain the original ingredients. Defra were really interested because of the age of the building, and the fact that he had acres of land that he wanted to grow hops, wheat and barely in. he wanted to be all organic too. Its just a shame it never worked out reall).

Hhhmmm,

What would we call the village?

Ishopolis
Ishville

Both sound too city like.

Ish-on-the-hill...

Judging from the number of request to run the pub maybe it sould be Ish-under-the-table

I've got a good idea... do it in South Africa!

Perfect currency exchange rate (£'s to R's), really good weather (lots of sun for solar energy), great produce, lot's of really affordable property... and if you did it somewhere close to Cape Town (with Table Mountain as a backdrop...), you can really get away with Ish-Under-The-Table... or Under The Table - Ish!

Please!!! Then I could also join the movement!
Pretty Please!!!
