In the meantime, I'd suggest looking at ebay for a "switch-mode laptop voltage converter" - mine cost around £6 plus carriage, and is excellent for running off batteries (you CAN run the normal "mains brick" off your inverter, and it's often done, but to save a LOT of power, go for the switch mode job). My laptop uses 2-3 amps that way, using the mains brick, it climbs to nearly 7 amps :cooldude:
