great - I was going to make some kiddy jeans out of adult ones, but there are some good ideas - modern living being what it is, the coffee cosy and ipod carrier appealing!

Hey - they don't even have my favourite one on that list - shopping bags!

When ours are really worn out, they get turned into patches for slightly less worn-out jeans and boiler suits. The trouser legs of kid's jeans make great quivers for their home-made bow and arrows too. Sew the bottom of the leg shut, sew a circle of fencing wire into the top, add some old hessian straps (or use the rest of the jeans), and you have an excellent quiver.

when they are REALY worn out cut them into strips and use them as wicking for oil lamps - i made mine out of two beer cans and it is just beautiful. no stink no soot runs on canola and anyhting else i feed it

Do you have instructions anywhere to make an oil lamp? It sounds interesting.
