7 hours in London...
Hi all you Southeners - I'm off on holiday at the weekend, and I have half a day to kill at Victoria Bus Station on Sunday. Any ideas on what to do, except sit on my suitcase? I'll be there from 7am to 2pm this coming Sunday; and on the return journey, from half past midday to 10:30pm on Saturday, 20th October... (So if you know a good pub nearby, I'd be grateful for recommendations!)
I do hope there'll be somewhere to park my luggage at least. What with the constant terrorist threat, I think they've given up on left luggage facilities in some places.

Hop on a tube and visit Borough Market (its on the south side of London Bridge) and see how much crazy Londoners are prepared to pay for organic goods. It's quite nice just wandering around, soaking in the atmosphere and if you fancy you can pop over to Greenwich and have a picnic in the park and /or visit the National Maritime Museum and Observatory.

Unfortunately the prebooking is sold out until December or something silly. You can turn up on the morning and join the rather large que for the 500 tickets they release daily!pskipper wrote:The British Museum is open on Sundays and currently has a display of the terracotta army!
You could see the whole of London in say an hour....The London Eye!

I can come into London for some drinks if you want Ina.
That'll keep you occupied for an hour or so (or until you get sick of me!!).

Breakfast would be more like it on Sunday morning!the.fee.fairy wrote:I can come into London for some drinks if you want Ina.

That would be great though - meet some fellow ishers on the way abroad!
And thanks for all your other ideas - I've never been to the London Eye or Borough Market.
I had a look at the Victoria Station website - goodness me, it's enormous... I even have to check in 60 minutes in advance same as at the airport for the Eurolines coach! And it does have luggage facilities etc, so at least I won't have to lugg my suitcase around. (I'm sure it'll be 2 suitcases on the return journey.

I'd love to come, but would then want to join you on the rest of your trip. Somehow I don't think I'd get away with that, do you?!
