Solar Power Music

Post: # 75390Post Turtuga Blanku »

Hi,

New on the forum... I hope you do not consider this spam, but I wanted to share my way of using solar power with you..simply to show that solar power can be used in all types of businesses, without much restrictions.

I am a music producer living in the Caribbean. Lot's of sunshine. This sunshine, I use to record all songs Turtuga Blanku is making. My small studio runs completely on solar energy. Obviously, the songs have got a kind of sunny feeling to them  .

I use Turtuga Blanku's myspace page not only to promote music, but also to promote the way the music is produced. (This will be done in more detail on the official Turtuga Blanku website [still under construction]).

I want people to understand that making use of solar energy does not have to limit you in what you (want to) do. What better way than to try to get this message across through music?

regards,

Turtuga Blanku

I've been browsing a bit more through this forum and I really like it! Lots of good ideas and a lot of enthusiastic, but realistic people!

Also, interesting, useful links for people interested in starting to use alternative power sources.

thumbs up Selfsufficientish.com! :)

TUR-TU-GA BLAN-KU

It means: 'white turtle' and is actually a nickname given to me when I was involved in sea turtle research in the Caribbean.

Ah, it makes some sort of sense when you put it like that! What language is that though? It does sound like a vaguely latin language - is it Spanish? Or maybe it's creole/pidgin?

it is indeed patois, a creole language, formed during (/as a result of) slavery.

It was formed from spanish, portugese, english, dutch, and some African languages.

Apart from the reasons which made the development of this language possible/necessary, it is actually quite cool, a language like this. No unnecessary difficulties in this language, just straight forward as efficient as can be. Relatively easy to learn and to use. But, at the same time, a real language.
