Nosey question
So...*leans on bar and takes a sip of martini*...what do you do for a living?
Me? Oh, I am a childminder most of the time, but also run a yoga class and help to look after my lovely family. Now, let's talk about you.

Haste makes waste
I am a lady of lesuire
I am a mummy of a 1 year old, a cook, a cleaner, a builder, a decorator, an accounts manager, a gardener, a handyman, and probably alot more that I can't think of just now.
JohnM is a operational information analyst... which pays the bills.
We used to both work full-time but realise that our lives were going nowhere and we were miserable so we decided to live more frugally and enjoy each others company a bit more. If we still both worked full-time we would be worse off than we are now.
When we get things up and running I will be running our mini-holding, which will feed us and I will be making things to sell to give us a small income too, also I will be home schooling E.

Self employed gardener here - although it's a bit more like non-employed gardener this time of year. Fingers crossed something will turn up soon.

I do a combination of support work with adults with learning disabilities and freelance translation, transcription, proof-reading and general wordy things! With any luck, I might end up working for a translation company full time, but that's a bit up in the air atm.
(For those that were following my other thread, I decided not to go with the defence company job. The office was really depressing, with no windows, and when the translation opportunity came up, I decided that I'd enjoy it much more and even if I don't get to go full time, I'd still prefer to stay doing the freelance things I'll be doing in the meantime. I like working from home and being in control of my time and what I do.)
My dream is eventually to open a shop that sells local food.

Someone has to do it. Might as well be you...Millymollymandy wrote:More like Annpan than Stoney although I don't even have children to look after - so I'm really I'm just a lazy old cow!![]()

He's smarter than me then!OH works from home editing technical documents and writing stuff. In between he has a fair bit of spare time to do the Stoney type stuff minus the children and pigs.

I'm a full-time mum (enjoying the new found freedom since Maximus started school) cook, beekeeper, gardener, cleaner, laundry maid the usual... i am also a jobbing jeweller mainly taking commisions and wedding/engagement rings looking to move into authentic 'ancient' jewellery for the re-enactor market so reading everything I can get my hands on and doing the rounds of museums in the area. I also attend and arrange craft fairs, member of a couple of committees (Beekeeping and LETS) and in our spare time we all do Roman re-enactment as a family.
Yep, thats my life

Nine to five I'm a GDB (genneral dogs body)/ office manager / office mother (I have 16 men to look after, just this week I've had to stop one eating things he found on the floor and another from buying drugs on the net).
Rest of my time I look after Mr. QuakerBear. He's very inteligent you see and spends most of his time thinking so needs someone to take care of his more mundane needs and provide him with distractions so his brain doens't pop.
All quite easy and relaxed really. I quite like it.
