Disaster!

Post: # 79139Post Chickenlady »

I went to turn my sloe vodka demijohns yesterday (i have two, looking very fruity and promising). I picked up one, and the bottom fell out of it! Sloes and £15 worth of rosy vodka all over the garage, under storage shelves, everywhere.

It must have got knocked I suppose. :( So I am looking after my remaining demijohn very carefully. Bit gutted though!

I'm always saying this... 'but please excuse my ignorance' !

...but what is a demijohn?
...and if it's something really important in the whole process of making a brew - what can I use instead? Whatever it is, I doubt I'll find it that easily in SA considering that I don't know what it is!
