Best wishes to Martin and family hope to see your presence on the forum soon, especially as I believe there is a back log of emoticons now due to lack of use

from another forum
From Martin this evening...
"Hopefully they got all the nasties out first time although I may have to have some chemo. It has not been a comfortable time but i'm determined it is not going to slow me down for long.
Thanks, yet again, for all of your kind thoughts. I really do appreciate them.
I have also posted regularly on other boards and offered impartial advice on renewable and have got my daughter to post on them that while i'm 'out of action' this board will welcome them with open arms, look after them, i'll be back soon!!!! "

Hello!
Hi, this is Martins daughter Anna. Thank you all for your kind encouragement, I can't tell you how much it appears to raise his spirits! He has been and is still very ill and it is a hideous rollercoaster but today he seems brighter again. Fingers crossed.
He has asked me to reply so this is what he said to me earlier this evening...
"Thank you so much everybody for you kind thoughts. really miss you all and will be back soon (as soon as I can get near wi-fi, hopefully within a few days). With luck they have got all the nasties in my tummy, I may have to have some chemo aswell, but generally they seem very pleased with me. There is a good chance that I will make a full recovery. In the meantime if anyone want s good straight source of help and advice on renewable energy, pop along to www.navitron.org.uk where you will be greeted with open arms. Just mention my name.
Martin"

Well, I made it home a short while ago! -
~With luck, I SHALL make a complete recovery - at the moment I'm revelling in the delights of berserk dogs, and the prospect of some real home food........
.
To everyone who cared enough to post in this thread, my heartfelt thanks - my daughter printed them out, and reading them while I was at my very lowest helped enormously - thankyou!

Wow Martin, Great to see you back
Eugh... hospital food, even thinking about it is enough to make you ill
Welcome back and I hope you have a lovely home cooked meal tonight.

sitting at the kitchen table - smell of home made shepherd's pie wafting about - one dog either side of me - having my first proper listen to Christmas CD - "Raising Sand" (Robert Plant/Alison Krauss) - this is damned close to heaven after weeks of illness and hospitals...........

Glad to hear it, Martin. So pleased you're back home.
They're not weeds - that's a habitat for wildlife, don't you know?
