I'm a newbie here too!!!

We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

I'm a newbie here too!!!

Post: # 8108Post Leanne »

Hello! some of you will recognise me from other similiar forums, and I recognise other names too!

I live with my OH and (at the moment) my children, but we do hope to move somewhere more rural as soon as we can, and that will be without the kids!!! we also have 9 pets so its a crowded house!!

we live as self sufficient-ishly as we are able at the moment, growing some of our veg, we have two hens, we recycle like crazy, all food is home cooked where we can, (I do not do ready meals etc at all!)I love making jam amd pickles, and baking, we are in our second year of home brewing and thats been interesting!! I make soap, washing powder and some house cleaning products, I make cards, and have a go at most crafts. This is all relatively new to us. mostly all in the last 3-4 years, and we are learning all the time. I look forward to getting to know you all, learning from you, and hopefully contributing now and then!!

Hi Leanne

Welcome to the site!
So just for a change it's cold (and snowy?) down south, too? We've got a thaw on at the moment - it's all very slushy... Best time to sit at home, involved in making something or. Baking is one of my favourite past times just now - it warms up the house! And then I sit in my comfy chair and knit more warm jumpers... Well, a cardigan at the moment. What kind of crafts are you trying out?

Cheers
Ina

Post: # 8137Post Sue »

just on with a rag rug and an embroidery - but its so fine my fingers are too cold - another hot cup of tea then!
is it worth buying solar panels when I trade up my boiler?
used to knit and sew loads - got very lazy - or busy!
wool and fabric is getting harder to find - but just cut up my daughters jeans (all too small for her I hasten to add) to make a huge denim throw -- and some bags to give friends to shop with (proud of me Andy??)
Life is too short - treasure every moment x
Plant it - grow it - eat it - love it x

You lot on about Mr man? Never sure if I have created a monster or a genius. He's been on working lunch (daytime bbc2) and sky tv amongst other local stuff. If you talk to him he is much better than he comes across on forums.

Good to see you here leeane, I think I have seen you elsewhere too.
