brewers yeast

Post: # 81431Post old tree man »

My wife jane suffers badly from arthuritus (hope thats spelt right) and it drains her physically and mentally with the pain, she tries not to let it bother her but you can see it in her face that she's hurting, i read somwhere that brewers yeast can give your metabolisum a boost, up your energy levels so to speak, has anyone had any experience with brewers yeast or heard the same.
We are making an appointment with a herbalist to see if that she can work along side janes specialist, mind you when we told janes consultant what we were doing he said that we were wasting our money, this we disagreed with as the chinese have been using herbal medicine for thousands of years,
the specialist did say that he would see what the hebalist had to say
especially when it came to taking herbal things in unison with janes medicine,

I used Brewers yeast a few years ago to try and boost energy levels and it seemed to help, at the very worst it will just improve the Vit B levels so nothing lost i would say, Just so long as you dont pin hopes on mirical improvements and get donwhearted if the results are not instant but im sure you know that,
Brewers yeast is a fairly natural product I think so I cant see it doing any harm so I say go for it.

Some people have good results with turmeric for arthritis and similar conditions. It certainly helped my inflammation of joints, when no anti-inflammatory would help! There seems to be a very low incidence of arthritis in countries where they eat a lot of curry. Up to three times daily, half a teaspoon; everybody seems to have their own preferred way of taking it (stirred in water or chutney - I just stick it in my mouth and wash it down with liquid).

I know of people who swear by herbalists, but I would 100% recommend homeopathy. They deal with person and how the illness affects them personally. They relieve inflammation, reduce pain and lift spirits and energy levels. Completely naturally.

I have had such incredible experiences with homeopathy that I rarely use any conventional medicine at all.

We are one of the few countries that don't offer it as an equal choice to "conventional" medicine, and certainly the only EU country that doesn't.
Homeopathy is reasonably priced, holistic and extremely effective if you find the right homeopath.

There is a list of registered homeopaths (they have to train for 4 years I believe before they can be registered) which you can find on line. This is a link to a Yorkshire located alliance that I found.

For pain relief on inflamed joints I find arnica cream and other arnica products wonderful. All my nurse friends use it before Ibruprophen or any other anti-inflammatory. You can also try glucosamine capsules, available from health shops, as I have heard that some people find relief with these too.

Hope this helps a little. I know how you feel about watching someone suffer. My mother had rheumatoid arthritis for 45 years and only found relief many years into her illness, when she saw a homeopath.

Good luck to you both.

Hi Russ
I know this is quite an old thread now but thought I'd chuck in my twopennerth anyway.

All the above should have some effect. Also ACV (apple cider vinegar) - 1tsp in water every morning is good. I used to work with an electrician who'd been medically retired due to such bad rheumatoid arthritis he'd lost all his fine motor skills, so couldn't hold tools, wires etc. After 6 months of using ACV he was back at work.

The point of my tale is stick with any treatment for a good long time, the repair is slow and steady.

The other thing to consider is your wife's diet - many foods can hamper recovery as well as help it. A google search will highlight loads of stuff but one of the main culprits are dairy foods.

Finally what about a joint rub - get some good chilli oil, about 20ml and add 2 drops thyme (linalool type), 2 drops of cedarwood and 2 drops of lavender. This should do her about a day - a little goes a long way. And don't rub your eyes (or other bits)!!!
