Relativley new to veggie growing, we just threw things in lat year and hoped for the best but we were wondering what does well with a good dose of well-rotted horse manure available at local stables for pickup ??

Almost everything bar parsnips and carrots!
Dig in as much as you can get your grubby paws on!
Steer clear of the neat stuff though - if it is still steaming and stinking then it's too fresh. Best stuff is black and friable with no particular smell.
All squash thrive on muck. Plant young plants straight into it.
You can also stick some in a bucket of water and after a few days/week, strain off the liquid and used it diluted as a feed.

I stew my muck in a Hessian bag dunked in a tank for a couple of weeks. I then dilute the tea but putting a couple of glugs in the bottom of a watering can and topping it up with water.
Not particularly scientific I am afraid. I do think there's a section on doing it in one of Geoff Hamilton's all encompassing gardening books though.
