Rough weather around the UK

Post: # 82822Post Annpan »

Hope everyone is bearing up alright.

We have had a few power-cuts today, I have the kettle and a stew on the woodburner and the wind-up radio and is standing by...

Hope everyone is warm and dry.

I heard a loud thud, looked out the window to see the neighbour's fence blowing happily down the road....we've stayed in all day, which is rare for us. The gaps in my knackered old windows are becoming ever more noticeable.....

Wishing everyone well....stay warm and dry!
I took my dog to play frisbee. She was useless. I think I need a flatter dog.

mine too so far - it was well wild this morning and I rode to work at an ever changing angle depending on where the gaps in the hedges were  lolol (you've seen motorcycle racers going round corners? well that was me but riding in a straight line  )
late morning was horizontal rain and hail which luckily finished just as the fire alarm went off at work :pale:

seems to have passed through now

two of our fence panels are down, one at the side of the house which has been threatening to go for about 2 years, and one at the front of the house which has inexpicably ended up around the back! It was either an act of God, or an act of John, our neighbour. We are certainly going to be praying to him to help us fix it!

We had to scoop piles of hailstones away from the doors and windows this morning - but this afternoon we had bright sunshine! :sunny:
Tonight it's freezing! Stars look wonderful though (sighs)

Been pretty wild here for 24 hours now and there's worse to come http://www.xcweather.co.uk/ this is a good easy site to use, downloads quick for those on dial up and gives real time weather reports. My friends have not been so fortunate, a family I know lost the roof off their caravan last night and another lost his solid wooden garage doors  But if you want the most accurate weather forecast ever http://www.theyr.tv/ this is the place to visit, It's run by 2 anoraks in Iceland with half a dozen PCs and they knock the spots off the met office for accuracy

Cheers, Paul

It was very windy here yesterday which I hate. I don't mind any kind of 'weather' except wind! It gets in the house too and cools it down too much. :(

it was very windy here yesterday but nothing major to report. one of our cats went missing all day but turned up in the end. i almost got blown away walking down the garden though! (i'm very petite). lovely and sunny and bright today though, hopefully it will last out the weekend as i'm moving house.

Hope you're all looking after yourselves and staying safe and warm.

It's abit chill here, I'm wearing my gloves, but no wind and beautiful blue skies and sun shine.
