What, Where, Why, When, Who?

Post: # 88322Post Annpan »

I just like doing these questionaires for fun every now and then to get to know more about everyone... please join in

What was the last book you read and did you enjoy it?
Peter Pan in Scarlet, it was rubbish... the original Peter Pan is such a fantastic book, it seems a shame that this follow up was commisioned (it was commisioned by Great Ormand Street Hospital to commemorate something or other... I think the royalties of the original run out soon :( )

Where were you when you last laughed?
In my livingroom, I think... I don't really remember... oh that's quite sad...

Why? (ie what made you laugh)
I am sure E (18months) had just said something very cute, and cheeky.

When did you last clean your bathroom floor?
I have no idea, pretty sure it was before November - my house is a building site, so it is pretty pointless trying to clean.

Who was your first crush on?
Michael. J. Fox  I was 8 and I had a poster of him on my wall above my bed

"The Places in Between" by Rory Stewart - which was fab-bloody-tastic. The author walks across the mountains of Afganistan. In winter. Practically during a war. It confirms for me that Rouseau was right: most people are basically good.

On this very sofa. About 6 minutes ago.

Because my wife just called me to tell me that the five people who won automatic election to our conseil municpale all came from our list, that she missed by only 18 votes so gets to go to the second round with a very real chance of getting on AND our evil mayor didn't get reelected automatically and will have to run again against her. Hee hee hee.

Cleaning the bathroom floor? Oddly enough this afternoon. But only 'cos I'd just washed our stupid, reeking hound (badger poo - I think. I didn't take any samples) and had little choice.

First crush? Cannot honestly remember. It might have been Suzi Quatro, when I was about 8.

What was the last book you read and did you enjoy it?

Well last book I finished was Stasiland by Anna Funder and yes I did really enjoy it. (True stories from East Berlin) I think we shouldn't forget what happened to a large part of Europe for 40 years and how we are in danger of the same thing happening here.

Also started to read All quiet on the western front and referring to a biodynamic 2008 calender book along with all sorts of gardening books.

Where were you when you last laughed?

Last night in my lounge.

Why? (ie what made you laugh)

Emma by girlfriend made me laugh as she normally does can't remember what it was about. Not spoken to anyone yet today but bound to laugh again when I do.

When did you last clean your bathroom floor?

Swept it last week, cleaned it..... well a little while ago probably before the last house inspection in December.

Who was your first crush on?

Joanne Smithson it was at lower School so I think I would have been about 5 or 6.

The last book I read was Niccolo Rising by Dorothy Dunnett. It's a historical novel, and the start of a series about a late medieval merchant adventurer. I actually started the series in the middle, not realising that it was book 4, so it was interesting to see the hero, and the other continuing characters, when they were all a bit younger, and find out the truth about Niccolo's marriage of convenience to the Widow Charretty.

When and why did I last laugh?
In work, yesterday, chatting to Mary about her recent holiday.

I last cleaned the bathroom floor last Monday, just before the landlord's agent's came round for an 'annual inspection'.
It needs doing again now - it's got bits of fleece all over it from where I was washing a sheep's fleece before I use it for spinning - and it then took three days to dry.

My first crush was Errol Flynn, after seeing Robin Hood on TV (still the best version, in my opinion).

What was the last book you read and did you enjoy it? 'The House on the Strand' by Daphne du Maurier. I love the gothic elements of her books. I tend to read a couple at a time so the other one was a biography of George Fox. I didn't agree with some of the conclusions drawn about his character but it's always inspiring to read about the early Quakers.

Where were you when you last laughed? Half in, half out of the bath this morning.
Why? (ie what made you laugh) I was doing the dance at the end of the film 'The Full Monty'
When did you last clean your bathroom floor? I have no idea.
Who was your first crush on? Mr. QB of course

What was the last book you read and did you enjoy it?
Catherine Cookson - Till Trotter Widowed. I just like most of her books, good characters, good escapism for me.

Where were you when you last laughed?
This morning (it's Tuesday morning in NZ) in the lounge.

Why? (ie what made you laugh)
Son came flying into the lounge looking like batman. He was a happy hyper peppy puppy this morning (hard for an on-the-cusp-of-16-years-old to acheive first thing in the morning)!

When did you last clean your bathroom floor?
Thursday evening.

Who was your first crush on?
Glen Campbell (American singer) when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I was allowed to stay up late the night of his TV programme, and I always cuddled up in my sleeping bag on the floor.

Good time waster, Annpan!

Cheers
