I think it's a great idea. That said, I haven't been on the forum at all for the last two days and I appear to have survived. I had two manic days at work, and the thought of spending any more time on the computer, even to talk to you lot, was deeply unappealing.... Wednesday I cooked a lavish meal and finished reading my book instead, yesterday I crawled into bed at 9....

13th August... What should I do?

It'll also be good for you because you'll be down the pub all day celebrating anyway!

I think it's a great idea. Just need a reminder a bit closer to the date - for us who don't have such a long term memory anymore...

Interesting idea Andy!

On the "Aussies Living Simply" forum one lady has introduced the idea of "Low Tech Wednesdays" where the computer, TV etc stay off that you read, walk, do the garden etc.

Are we going to take Self sufficientish day international?

Love the idea of a non-post day to do something -ishy instead, but that will only make the addicted to SSish compulsive reading of posts worse on the 14th!

Will the servers stand the mad rush of people logging on to see what everyone got up to the day before?
