Replanning the storage space and moving absolutely everything around ... because we bought a garden shredder. We got it home, took it out of the box and put it all together, stood back in admiration. Only then did we realise that there was just nowhere to put it. The outhouse is full, both sheds are full (and one of them has a nesting robin in it anyway), and it's too big for the garage unless we leave the car outside.
Right now, it's sitting in the living room laughing at us ...

Sounds like everyone is going to be busy one way or another!

I am hoping for good weather so I can get out in the garden. I am not planting potatos but have lots of pots and troughs to clean up and some tidying up to do as well as a bit of digging.
I am going to be concentrating on the shopping/cooking side of things if the weather is bad. (thanks everyone who posted on the cheap and cheerful thread).

Have you tried Freecycle - someone on our local one has asked for one - and you never know.......

If forecast is correct (rain, wind, cold) I shall be laying cork tiles, plastering/repairing/painting walls and repairing the windowsill in the 'previously downstairs bathroom now utility' making cupboards in the kitchen, dyeing fleece/yarn, fluffing and spinning
If rain holds off will be emptying coal bunker and moving it off the south facing wall that I want to grow toms and peppers against, and creating some square foots for other fruits and veggies

My allotment is all up to scratch so i am going to put new bars on my motorcycle some recycled foot boards and spend about three hours polishing the chrome

Too cold to stand in the barn polishing the bike.

Too sleety to stand outside playing horsey.

Too everything to be outside in the garden at all.

So - out to dinner tonight, out to dinner tomorrow night, interspersed with a bit of reading, a bit of knitting, a bit of embroidery, and lots of sitting in front of the Rayburn with our feet up feeling snug inside.

Forecast for yet more snow over Easter, couple of freezing days then a week of snow/sleet showers turning to rain for the start of April.

Thankfully I got out yesterday and did lots in the garden!

Today is wet, blustery but now interspersed with sunshine. I'm going to do some things indoors.

Not that it is Easter in France yet - we only have Monday as a public holiday, so my husband is working.

revised plans here..

wild weather, very strong gusts, peeled roof of our outbuildings.. like a sardine tin. so have been reroofing most of the day. and taking out my rose arch that was blown apart...
twas nice and sunny too

We were supposed to be planting and fencing. Not so much to do with Easter, as our growing season starting just after the spring equinox.

But, we had several days of rain and sleet earlier this week so the ground is muddy. And we've just had two days of hail, sleet and blizzards so the mud is covered in snow.

When the ground does dry out a bit, we've 200kg of potatoes, 750 onion sets, 100kg of jeruslaem artichokes, 200 broad bean seedlings, leek seedlings, cabbage seedlings, onion seedlings and more all waiting to go out. We also have overwintered carrots and parsnips to lift, a couple more acres of ground waiting to be dug, etc etc etc.

In the meantime, though, we wait...
