Lambing report!

Post: # 99222Post ina »

What a night! I think the tups had just one night of passion with the ewes - and most of them decided to lamb last night. One set of quads, and I can't remember how many of triplets and twins. One was born dead (one of triplets), but the rest is alive and well!

I'm all hyped up now - should have knocked off work at 2, but I've still not finished, and am taking the opportunity that one of my colleagues has arrived for a quick cup of coffee. No idea whether I'll be able to sleep at all today. The joys of farming...

excellent. I have had lots of reports of trips this year.. people are saying that the weather caused a natural 'flushing' thingy with the grass etc.. dunno what you think of that?

quads.. wow.. they are going to need fostering or supplementing!

Fostering - we generally only leave two on each ewe, but also try to get all the singles out with two!

And TG - I've had about two hours sleep, and am about to start my next shift. Keep fingers crossed it won't be quite so busy. :?
