no. we took over from the oxford crew, and then after 2 years i was doing it on my own...
i lasted a year... 20 pages every month, and advertising etc with 2 small kids...
wasnt possible...
i am now in portugal, growing most of my one veg, chickens, ducks etc... my wife runs http://www.pureportugal.co.uk... well, we are a co-op... 3 of us...
and now we have horses... full time bloody job!!!
but i love my life more than i ever have :)
and if i can offer any help advice to andy/dave fantastic... magazines can be a lot of work, for little financial gain... but the letters of support are worth their weight in gold!!
thanks for the kind words... i like to think we changed some consciousnesses!!

No problem, send the mag via email to a digital printer and voila - you're on the shelves down under! And with the number of Brits / Europeans who are streaming into NZ and Oz each day, many with a dream of having some land and being selfsufficentish, you'd do well here! The trouble is the environmental damage caused by sending magazines half way across the world.
I'm another who is happy to help out with content to get you up and running - and I'm off for an interview this afternoon with a local newspaper so fingers crossed!!

Cheers Nev!
Guess what - I've been given the opportunity of my own weekly column and are on their books for freelance work - it's a start!

Congratulations - that's brilliant!
I must admit, I was very proud when I had my first piece published... Well, it was only a reader's letter, but it was in print!
So far two letters in the Sunday Herald, and one in the Guardian Education supplement. And another mention in the Herald (for a translation of the words "talking Euro shite" into apropriate German
- neverending fame!)
Yes, tell us more about your column!

Without wanting to hijack the existing thread, my column(s?) ideas at present are along the lines of A Bumbling Brit in the Boonies which will be a weekly look at the mistakes, successes, experiences, etc of a new immigrant to NZ.
The other (spookily similar to catalysts) is to be a column based on my marketing/IT background giving hints and tips to small and local businesses on how to market their products/services etc on a tight budget/free with a focus on internet but not excluding traditional media.
Now all I have to do is be able to tear myself away from forums like this and I have a slim chance of getting a plan on paper!!
Ohhh, scared yet excited - a challenge!!!
