Zoe, thanks but no. We won't take money or anything else as that just leads to more aggro as when we had our water problems. People start getting very suspicious and think we're trying to con them. Well, I think some are already thinking that now.

As for the other offers of help, the OH and I are having a rethink because of the vitriol we've been getting. I'd like to take some of the pressure off her, but some of the feedback we're getting is much more wearing than just getting on with it ourselves.

Visitors for a cuppa and a chat would be nice though.

Thanks again for the kind words and support.

Do you personally know the people who are abusing the comments option on your forum? they are obviously a bunch of idiots, sad that they have nothing better to do with their lives.

Would you consider asking someone else to moderate the comments for you? so that you and the OH don't need to put up with them?
We all know that there are people out there who criticise the way we chose to live our lives, but I for one, couldn't bear to see it in black and white everyday.

It also occured to me that the comments are from animal liberation nuts (I know there are genuine argument for the cause) y'know the guys that would stop at nothing to put you out of business, the guys that dig up grannies just to torment families. It was the only explanation that I could come up with, why would someone read your blog if they weren't interested in what you do?

I am sorry that you have decided not to accept any help, but I understand why.

Keep smiling
Ann Pan

Cassiepod showed up just before lunch today and launched into mucking out the pigs, before doing the washing up, blanketing the winter veg with straw, bedding down the sows with fresh straw, and feeding and watering the chickens.

It was very much appreciated - especially as I didn't know she was coming!

Thanks muchly.

Dear Stonehead,

I don't understand why people are being vitriolic and mean on your blog, but I really hope they don't get to you and OH too much.

Chip up chappy, there are some nice people out there

Outrageous responses you got on your blog, Stonehead - I thought they were maybe folk you knew, and were joking at first... can't believe people can have those sorts of thoughts. hat a complicated and pointless scam that would be!

Hope you recover soon, karma will out, in all ways. And a pat on the back to Mrs Stonehead, who I'm sure will also be doing it hard at the moment.

Not in the mood for nasty comments so forgive me for not visiting the blog Stoney - however, be assured that people who are unkind will get 'their own back'
and more.

Hope your visit to the doc's is encouraging.

take care

Mrs Stonehead is very tired, very grumpy and very knackered. But I have some cheesecake, apple and cinnamon pancakes, and coffee up my sleeve. And a flak jacket!

Problem is I can't crouch down or bend over - and she has pig muck on her wellies right now!!

Anyway, I have my sense of humour back so comments have re-opened on my blog and there's what I think is a funny post about the Other Half and I at the supermarket yesterday.

Thanks again all.

Just about to go out, so will be brief.Wouldn't mind help with replacement and extra safety gear. Details on blog. Donations appreciated, any extra to go to Cycle Touring Club as their legal team is helping me.

Wouldn't normally ask but hit-run compensation scheme doesn't cover repairs/damage in my circumstances and it's for the boys' safety as much as mine. Also, the OH has threatened to twist my good arm if I don't ask!

Hi Stoney
Personally, I'm glad you've you've given a way for me to help. If this had happened to a colleague at work we'd have had a whip round and used the money to help in some way. This is no different to that except that you guys are the other end of the country so I can't just pop round with a box of chocs.

Hope the new gear helps to stop this EVER happening again and here's wishing that driver 10,000 sleepless nights.

Cheers
Zoe
