Of the six or so Niamh (my niece) planted Easter Sunday, five have come up whilst one is dithering.

They are smallish, around 3 inches, but have strong stems with healthy colour.

Had a bit of shock last week when we found two sunflowers growing in with one of our bell pepper plants. On closer inspection they much have been in with the organic compost. SO one left on the allotment that the slugs did not destroy and two in pots. Will have to see what happens.

I planted some of my seedlings out the other day and they have all been destroyed by slugs despite my best efforts. I still have about half a dozen seedlings in pots so I'll just leave them there for the time being.

I had all of mine in pots until yesterday - planted the first one out. Haven't been out there today to look if it's still there! :?

So's mine, I think - I still have only one outside, the rest in pots in the polytunnel. But today I discovered slugs on the pots even in the tunnel - can't win!

Ok. Finally remembered to whack some in last weekend and they have just shot...

Teeny tiny twin leaves that I am already visualising as full grown! WOW - What whoppers!

Ran then along the front of the mudbricks, so I don't forget them...

Game on.

Mine is flowering and about elbow height - don't think it'll grow any taller now, but at least it survived!
