New from Holland

Hi everyone,

My name is Petra and I live in the east of Holland.
I'd like to think we are selfsufficientish; we have our own vegetable garden since half a year. The fight against the weeds is almost won by me and between the weeds we have managed to grow some vegetables as well. And they taste good!
We also have three chickens in our back garden and they are so kind to lay us some eggs.
I bake all my own cakes and cookies, make jam and sometimes bake our own bread.
We do lots of DIY (why hire people if you might be able to do things yourself?).
We decided to get rid of one of our cars, we now have "only" one which we don't use very often. I do most things in town by foot or on my bicycle.
We try to recycle as much as possible but in this "throw away world" it isn't always easy.
I like to think I'm living a Good Life!
