I don't think that they do. Mine are electing to spend most of their time either in the (admitedly very high quality!) hen house or within a metre of the pop hole. This, I think, has something to do with the heat (26°C at quarter to ten) and the circling Black Kites that have taken up residence over the cut wheat fields to the back.

Bless them! We collected 4 very ugly ex-batts today and we're hoping to nurse them back to full-feathered health shortly

Did a bit of a tidy up round the back of the greenhouses today and fould a pile of blue eggs laid by Florence, one of our legbars.
We thought she just hadn't been laying a couple of weeks back. Then just as suddenly all was back to normal. - seems she just prefered to lay under the hedge.
All the eggs were smashed (weazel, badger?) so maybe that's why she went back to the nesting box.
