After the day I've had, I will be tucked up by 9pm methinks! But I'm sure I'll hear all the gossip tomorrow when I turn on the PC/TV!

Keep some matchsticks handy for those eyelids, Ann!

We're planning an all-nighter too. But after my birthday dinner I'll probably be asleep by 10!

I still have catching up to do - blame Andy for a weekend of late nights - so I doubt I'll be up all night! And it'll happen anyway, whatever we do now.

The first results are expected around 1 or 2 our time but chances are - unless it is a complete landslide we'll have to wait till 5 ish for the west coast results... that is not necessary the case as there are usually several states which are disputed, or recounted, or the exit polls are too close to call, or sometimes the results are just plain fabricated by fox news (not that that would ever happen of course  )

I think they are expecting a relativly smooth night, as it looks like a landslide is a comin', good on all those first time voters

Martin Luther might have had a dream, but I bet he never saw THAT coming!!

With Americas race history in mind, what a fantastic achievement.... he's quite easy on the eye too

We could now invite Barack to join the Ishers as American President?

I have now to decide whether it's to be roast or curried when I eat my words. Having seen the viciousness of the resistance to the civil rights movement in the 60's and the decades of reaction, Nixon, Regan, Bushes of both generations and all they represented. I didn't believe that America would vote a Black President into the White House. It's SOOOO good to be proved wrong! Well done America!

Perhaps poached .... or maybe fried ....
