Can you write

Post: # 10832Post Andy Hamilton »

Thought I would ask as myself and my fine brother (have to say that now he uses the forum  ) could do with some help over the next couple of months. Namely we need some writers for the site and the magazine. Spring is the busiest time for the web and it would be good to offer some more articles. I would suggest that if you do want to write have a look around the main site and make sure that it has not been done before. Or if it has and you want to improve more the better.

So if you want to put something together and email me it that would fantastic, if you have a preference for the web or mag then let me know.

Thanking you in advance :andy:

Not yet! We spent some of the morning in the garden, pruning and digging in the frozen sandpit. At 10am he fell asleep on the sofa so I carried on in the sandp... sorry, pruning, etc... and he's STILL ASLEEP! Just cooking chili con carne for his lunch! He loves it!!! And I can hide loads of veggies in it... He now only has ONE unburst blister!!!

Anyway - back to the original thread...

And ENGLAND!!!

As to eating stuff, Shirlz, Josh is a nightmare, one day he'll eat pasta like it's going out of fashion and the next day won't touch it with a barge pole. He is a good boy, but eating wise very fussy. I really didn't think he'd eat the chili one day but he mixed it up and wolfed it down! I sat there with my jaw on the floor - next day's nappy wasn't pleasant! I have used Supernannys Naughty Step a couple of times - it's worked with amazing results! I don't do this often, just when I KNOW he likes something but is just being a pain, or for something new he won't even try. I give him a warning, sit him on the bottom step, explain why he's there (kneeling down), shut him out of my range of attention for between 30 seconds - 2 mins and then ask him if he wants to come in and TRY the food. If it's something new, I don't ask him to finish it if he really doesn't like it - we all have likes and dislikes, but he HAS to try it. Normally he eats a decent amount and is perfectly happy about it. I make a big fuss of him when he tries it - he loves this. I am having to do it less than I did.

Sorry for taking over your thread, Andy

Sorry has taken me a while to get back to this thread. Stuff about what to do with kids and there meals is brilliant, could really do with stuff like that.

Maybe something about the highs and lows of growing in Scotland could be ideal too, stuff about what grows well and what does not and all that perhaps. In fact indeed this could work all over. Even just a five things that grow well and 5 that don't would be usefull as a filler for the mag.

Andy, if it's OK with you I'll start writing an article about Josh and I - he's just over 2years old now and I really want to get him involved in growing veg this year. It makes it easier for me!

We've been together to buy the seeds and he chose some tomato seeds - and we've been in the fields collecting mole-deposited soil for the new veggy patch, so that can go in too. Might take some pictures as we go along too. It'll be fun and if it isn't good enough for the mag/site, it really won't bother me!
