petition to the Prime Minister / save our herbs
Here is a petition to the Prime Minister to oppose the adoption of the Codex Alimentarius (WHO/UN) proposals for restriction of the presently freely available herb/vitamin/mineral food supplements.
Margaret Rothwell, the petition creator, adds:
"The principle of self medication with herbal/vitamin/mineral food supplements would be restricted to 'prescription only' status, if the Codex Alimentarius is applied in this country.
Since the NHS priorities are ill health diagnosis and treatment, the good health preservation that supplements provide will be inaccessible to the majority of our population and the cost to the NHS will increase, and the health of the population will decline."

Not a great petition signer, but I've done this immediately. Weber knew what he was talking about!

Added mine too, even though I'd already lobbied my MP about this nonsensical bill

I have also added my signature.

What does this mean? That you won't be able to buy vitamins etc anymore except on prescription. Why ever not?

Yup! - I feel this is backed by the multi - national pharmaceutical companies wanting to control (and profit from) any natural remedy. Taken to its furthest extreme - medicinal herbs would be out!
This Bill is much more insidious than you think - look at 'who' is backing it!

Unfortunately those online petitions mostly go completely ignored.
You could try getting in touch with these people: http://www.mysociety.org/blog/
They managed to get 6000 members in a week to help overturn the concealment of expenses by MP's, their Facebook group went viral... a large group like that could bring a considerable weight to bear on the Government and it has been proved before!
They tried to do this once before and were defeated, they should be concentrating on more important things than supplements and carrier bags at the moment imho!
