What are you planting it with? A wildflower/grass conservation mix or similar? From a habitat manangement point of view the standard care is to mow them. Twice a year, in spring before all the major growth of flowers starts and in autumn after the flowers and grasses have set seed. You need to remove all the mowed material, if the soil gets too fertile it will destroy your lawn. Are you doing it from seed or from young plants?
