um..hi

Post: # 151722Post greenfingers »

hello,

im from cornwall
and grew up in a family that has always lived a resonubly sef suficcient lifestyle
(may i just mention that since i am unable to find a spell checker on this thing the dyslexia is going to be pritty obvious as far as the spelling is concerned)
we have a very large garden , a veg plot and *cough* 3 greenhouses (they were free...you cant say no to an offer like that)
weve always been organic in the garden (as far as is humanly possible anyway) and although this does mean that the cabbidge whites eventually win every year, it means the ecology of our little bit is all the bettre for it.
i got into heirloom veg last year and intrested in swapping seed with outher people.
i also am realy into craft orientated stuff, i discovered spinning, dying, weaving, luceting and andean sling braiding last year (needless to say, it was a very buisy year) and have way too much yarn knocking around the house (dont supose anyone wants to trade?).

cripes, ive written a whole lot. id better stop now

Hi greenfingers, sounds lovely. In your other post I asked if you'd got cover for growing - just a bit, eh?

And welcome, by the way.

it sbeen very dry down here so weve needed the rain badly, the water barrel (my way of measuring rainfall) was getting low. also i live on a hill (or what passes for one down here), but thatnks for the concern

as to the spinning/dying, spinning is great fun, its something ive wanted to try ever since i bumped into some reenacters doing it when i was about 6. the dying is a bit trickier, i think i need to try some of those landscape dyes (even though i realy wanted to try natural dying...sigh).

thanks everyone for the overwhelming flood of greetings, am much aprecative. (and a little bowled over).
