Yippee! Cowabunga! Jurassic Park! My Ishness is complete!
Am chuffed to bits, just had to share...we have struck a deal with our LL to rent half of her HUMUNGOUS field, which is at the back of our garden.
SOOOOO pleased, have been on allotment waiting list for yonks with no joy, have tiny back garden (which I erm...dug the turf over at Christmas...that may have to be re-seeded now for a seating area, doh!) and now finally have real S-P-A-C-E for the first time in my life. And all for a relatively miniscule £50 per month! (compared to our Riverford bill).
Should have posted this on the 'how much is a reasonable rent for 1 acre' thread, but was so pleased, I thought it deserved a post of its own, sorry to brag!
I am just very encouraged, as not owning your own property and having lived in flats etc for so long, it goes to show it is possible, if you make some sacrifices (living 45min drive from work) and look in the right places, and if you have the cheek to ask!
Can even have a polytunnel and the best bit...5m high pile of THREE YEAR old rotted horse manure. I have died and gone to heaven....

Congrats BT, now do you know anyone who can com and plough your half
