The City of Brantford supplies free compost during the month of May. I pick up about half a yard per day. This is about three and a half wheelbarrows full. Some compost is placed on beds as required and the remainder is stored, and placed on the garden in the Fall, since the supply is too late, as I have already planted in many cases. This is vegetative compost and is the only fertilizer used. Most of my plants are bigger than life.
