Surprise visitor

Post: # 197231Post MKG »

I've had to call a halt to the demolition of the Leylandii - I'd got about 80% there, shaking all of the offshoot branches before cutting them, just in case. Anyway, the just in case worked because I was finally told off rotten by a blackbird which is obviously nesting up there (when I say told off, it was more of a physical attack  ). So the garden's fallen quiet again.

Which was nice because we've had the company of a Greater Spotted Woodpecker all day. We don't see too many of those.

Gert and I went for an evening stroll arond our village yesterday evening and as we approached the post box we saw that it had been taped and had a notice on it. Grumbled about how there were no services at all left in rural areas, rotten old post office etc etc until we got there and read that "postal services had been temporarily suspended due to birds nesting in the box"

Lovely
