Hi,
I was wondering what other people do with their potato bags / containers after harvesting? I've just emptied a couple of bags of second earlies, I added a bit of new compost from my composter and have planted French beans, one bag with seedlings and one with seeds.
Hoping to get an additional crop of beans from the bags and improve the spent compost by planting legumes.

Are you talking about bags you've grown potatoes in - perhaps the square ones that are sold for the purpose? I'd think you can plant pretty much anything in those - they're nice and deep

yeah - that's the ones - the big potato plants were covering up an ugly wall and now they're gone I'm hoping to cover it up again with some bean poles and french beans.
fingers crossed!

I grow French beans in bags and get good results. I hesitated to answer before because I start them off a lot earlier than I harvest my potatoes.
